Privacy policy

It is important for you, our customer, to know how I gather, use and protect information I collect about you. Trust is the most important cornerstone of our relationship and I respect and value that trust.

This policy details the how, why and what I do in regard to your information, confidentiality and privacy as required under the terms of the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

I collect information for a variety of reasons but the main one is to provide you with the best services. The information I collect will vary dependent on why you contact me and the type of services you require from me.

The policy states:

  1. I will maintain as secret and confidential all information I obtain from you in providing the services and will not use that information for any reason other than as necessary for the reasons detailed below. This obligation will not apply to information that is in the public domain or that is known to me or obtained by me without breaching any obligation to you or that I am required to disclose by law.

  2. You authorise me to collect, retain, use and provide any personal information about you for the purposes detailed in the next section. (point 3)

  3. I collect and store information you provide through phone calls, emails, online forms, competitions, online surveys, social medias and from the FrenchITech website. The information I collect from you includes (but is not limited to):

  • Names;

  • Physical Address;

  • Mailing address;

  • Email address;

  • Phone number;

  • Reviews you give me

In certain situations, I may also collect:

  • Your responses to surveys

  • Information you may give about other people, such as the name and address of a referral gift recipient, or the name and contact information of someone who can act on your behalf. I will only use this information for the specific reason you provide for it.

  • Your device or browser details, your hardware and network types.

How do I use the information I collect?

I use the information to:

  • Fulfil orders and requests for information, products or services;

  • Process refunds, returns and exchanges;

  • Deliver and install products;

  • Market and advertise products and services to you via email, telephone marketing, social media and text messages;

  • Conduct research and analysis;

  • Other business purposes including credit approval, meeting my obligations to you, and enforcing my rights against you if required;

  • With your consent, I may share your information with certain third parties to perform services on my behalf

Secure Data Storage

  • In accordance with the NZ Privacy Act 2020, if I am involved in recovering or transferring data to and from your personal computer devices, I guarantee I will store an encrypted backup copy of this data for no more than 30 days after your devices have been returned to you in case a problem occurs during this period.

  • This is purely to serve as a backup of your data in case part of your data was inadvertently missed during the original transfer. As long as the missing data is noticed within 30 days, and I am notified straight away, I will be able to recover it from the backups for you.

  • After 30 days all your data will be securely erased and will be unrecoverable.

  • If you would like to opt-out of this 30 day backup please let me know know. Alternatively, if you would like me to keep it for longer than 30 days, please let me know and we can discuss arrangements for this.

Calls, emails and contact form

  • I will keep a record of all contact and communication including details of your devices and equipment.

  • In addition to the limitation and liability provisions contained within any “Limitation of Liability” clause in the Terms and Conditions, you expressly acknowledge and agree that I have no responsibility or liability arising out of the use of any password or passwords provided by you, or for any loss or corruption of data, software or hardware that may arise out of the Services provided.

At any stage you may contact me if you choose to:

  • Stop receiving email, direct mail and telephone marketing communications;

  • Update and correct your personal information;

  • At any time ask me for a copy of your personal information that I have
